Overview
Lefty Keyboard is an ergonomic iOS keyboard for left-handed users. This Privacy Policy explains what the keyboard and the companion app do with information. In short: your typing stays private and on your device, while the free app shows ads and offers an optional Pro subscription.
The Keyboard — Your Typing Stays Private
The keyboard extension is designed with privacy by design:
- No keystroke logging - we never record what you type
- No text storage - nothing you write is saved or sent
- No Full Access - the keyboard has no network access
- Runs inside Apple's secure keyboard sandbox
What you type is never transmitted anywhere by the keyboard.
Advertising (Free Version)
The free version of the app shows banner ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect device and usage information such as:
- A device advertising identifier
- Coarse location derived from your IP address
- Ad interactions (impressions, clicks)
This data is handled by Google under its own policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking and Apple Advertising.
Subscribing to Lefty Pro removes all ads.
In-App Purchases
Lefty Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple. Purchases are processed by Apple — we never receive or store your payment details. Your subscription status is stored only on your device to unlock Pro features (ad removal, auto-correction, and custom themes).
Data Stored On Your Device
Your preferences are saved locally (in an app group container) and are not sent to our servers:
- Language and keyboard layouts
- Custom key and letter colors
- Key sound setting
- Suggestion settings
- Pro subscription status
Dictionary Updates
The app may download updated word lists to improve auto-correction. These requests only download files — they do not send your personal data or anything you type.

Children's Privacy
Lefty Keyboard is not directed to children under 13. Because the free version shows third-party ads, we recommend Lefty Pro (ad-free) for younger users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Choices & Rights
- Limit ad personalization in iOS Settings
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account
- Remove the keyboard anytime from iOS Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards, or uninstall the app
- Depending on your region (GDPR / CCPA / KVKK), you may have rights over data processed by Google for advertising — see Google's policy
