Privacy Policy — inClipMark

inClipMark ("the Extension") is a browser extension published by Hiddenmine Labs ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what the Extension does and does not do with your information.

Short version: inClipMark is local-first. Your bookmarks, clips, categories, and settings live in your own browser. We do not run our own servers, we do not have analytics or trackers, and we never sell your data or show ads.

What the Extension stores

The Extension saves the following on your device using your browser's extension storage:

Bookmarks and clips — the title, timestamp (and clip end time), thumbnail URL, page URL, category, tags, and notes you add for a saved moment.
Categories and settings — your category list, theme, view mode, and bookmarking preferences.
License information (Pro only) — your license key and a generated device instance ID, so Pro can be validated and deactivated.

This data is stored with chrome.storage.local and stays on your device unless you enable Pro browser sync (below) or export it yourself.

Browser sync (Pro)

If you activate Pro and turn on Browser sync, your bookmarks and categories are written to your browser's built-in sync storage (chrome.storage.sync). That data is synchronized by your browser account — your Google Account on Chrome/Edge/Opera, or your Firefox Account on Firefox — to your other signed-in devices.

This is handled entirely by your browser vendor. We do not operate a sync server and never receive a copy of your data.
The data is governed by your browser vendor's privacy policy while in transit and at rest in their sync service.
Turning off Browser sync stops further syncing; you can clear synced data from within the Extension.

Licensing and payments

Pro is unlocked with a license key purchased through LemonSqueezy, our checkout and license provider (and merchant of record for the sale).

When you activate, validate, or deactivate a license, the Extension sends your license key and a generated device instance name/ID directly to https://api.lemonsqueezy.com. This is used only to verify your license.
Payment details (card, billing info) are collected and processed by LemonSqueezy on their own pages — the Extension never sees or stores them.

Site access

The Extension only runs on its supported sites and requests access to:

youtube.com, youtubekids.com, music.youtube.com, soundcloud.com — to read the current media's time, title, and thumbnail and to add the in-player buttons, so you can bookmark and jump to moments.
i.ytimg.com — to display YouTube thumbnail images for your saved items.
api.lemonsqueezy.com — for license activation/validation only.

The Extension does not read, collect, or transmit your browsing history, and it does not run on any other websites.

Permissions and why they are used

storage — save your bookmarks, categories, and settings on your device.
tabs — open the bookmark manager, onboarding, and a saved moment in a new tab.
activeTab / host access — interact with the media player on the supported sites listed above.
contextMenus — provide the right-click "Bookmark this moment" action.
alarms — periodically re-validate a Pro license.

What we do NOT do

We do not collect analytics or telemetry.
We do not use advertising or third-party trackers.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data.
We do not create accounts on our own servers (we have none).

Data retention and deletion

Your data remains until you delete it. You can remove individual items, use Clear all in Settings, or uninstall the Extension to remove all locally stored data.
You can export your data to a JSON file and re-import it at any time.
To remove synced data, clear it from the Extension while Browser sync is enabled, or disable sync in your browser account.

Children's privacy

The Extension works on YouTube Kids but does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. It stores only the bookmark data you choose to create, on your own device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Extension evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
